Special Event Recycling


KU Recycling offers free recycling services for events taking place on KU Lawrence Campus. If you have an upcoming event or gathering, please complete the Special Event Recycling Form. We can also help you plan a zero waste event, if needed.


If you need to check the status of an existing request or you need to cancel a request, please notify us at kurecycling@ku.edu. Thank you for recycling at your event!


Large Quantities, Special Pickup, Overflowing Bins, and Shredded Paper
If you have a large quantity or special pickup of materials that need to be collected, notice an overflowing bin that needs to be collected outside of the normal collection schedule, or have bags of shredded paper, please fill out an Online Work Request. Shredded Paper should be bagged. Please do not put bags in or on top of the recycling bins.


Office Move or Clean-Out
KU Recycling can provide your office with recycling totes of various sizes to best suit your needs. Tote sizes available include 18 gal, 32 gal, 65 gal, 95 gal. To request containers, please fill out an Online Work Request and include what size and quantity of totes you will require, and we will schedule a time to drop them off at your designated location. Bins are only provided temporarily. When the totes are full, give us a call and we will pick them up when we visit your building on our normal collection route.


Surplus Property Collection for Reuse
KU Surplus will pick up reusable furniture and office supplies from the Lawrence campus free of charge in accordance with the KU Surplus Property Recycling Procedure. Please visit the KU Surplus page for more information.


Electronic Waste
ESP no longer collects E-Waste. Please contact KU IT to schedule an E-Waste collection.
